Tengchong Beihai Wetland is not only the only wetland of volcanic barrier lake on plateau in southwest China, but also the natural distribution area of the national first-class protected plant-brasenia schreberi and the coarse lysimachia distributed in Beihai narrow area. Tengchong Beihai Wetland is a protected area of biological species and natural historical sites, and also an important research base of geography, geology and biology, which has high eco-tourism value and scientific value. There are 15 orders, 32 families and 125 species of birds, including 9 orders, 16 families and 51 species of wetland birds, 3 species of national first-class protected animal, 14 species of national second-class protected animal, 6 species of protection species listed in the CITES Appendix Ⅱ, 40 species of amphibians and reptiles, and 13 species of fishes.
